It presents an outlet to channel energy positively and builds attributes lasting a life time. This is especially important for children fleeing from conflict situations. Sport develops tolerance, cooperation, trust, fair play, confidence and an appreciation of rules. Where schools are nonexistent sport teaches life skills, basic values and can communicate vital health messages. Sport can be used to help youth regain a childhood lost when they fled war and violence.
